One of the victims of the shooting in Jefferson County that killed 3 over the weekend now identified – Reports revealed that three men were killed in separate shootings in less than 36 hours in Jefferson County over the weekend, and authorities have released the names of two of the homicide victims. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Monday identified the victims as 40 years old Naquinton Brown and 23 years old Ron Christopher Newell Jr. The third victim, shot early Monday on Interstate 65, was a 30 year old man from Adamsville but authorities are withholding his name pending notification of family. Brown was one of six people – including an off-duty Birmingham police officer; shot at an Ensley motorcycle club late Saturday night, 8th of August 2020.
According to news release, the shooting happened shortly before midnight at #1 Stunnas Motor Sport Club on 18th Street. Birmingham police Sgt. Rod Mauldin are not sure if it happened inside the club or outside the club.
Reports from AL.com says when officers arrived, they found the six wounded victims, all of whom were rushed to the hospital. The off-duty officer, who police also have not yet named, was shot twice, once in the leg and once in the upper body but he is expected to recover. Mauldin said the officer, as well as the other five victims, were patrons of the club at the time of the shooting. Brown was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital’s Trauma Center at 12:24 a.m. Sunday. The other five victims had minor injuries.
