Owen Russell Smith Death – The identity of the man who was shot and killed on Tuesday, August 4 in the city’s homicide has been released by the Winnipeg police as Owen Russell Smith, 29.
According to police report on Wednesday, the office were called around 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday to the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Upon their arrival they found Smith suffering from gunshot injuries.
Smith was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, says the police.
So far, no suspect has been arrested and investigators are still working to determine what led to the killing.
This is recorded as the 26th homicide of the year.
