Philip Bowsman  Cause of Death | Tribute

Indian high school coach is dead. Philip Bowsman died of stroke on Monday, November 25, 2019. According to report, Philip suffered a stroke on Friday, November 23, during a playoff game.

Bowsman coached at West Washington High School in Campbellsburg, Indiana. He passed away Monday afternoon around 1:19 p.m., according to the school district. Bowsman also served as athletic director for the district.

West Washington School Corporation on Facebook paid a tribute to the late coach.

“Today at 1:19 PM Phillip Bowsman passed. In true Coach Bowsman fashion he made his final act of giving by being an organ donor.

There will be an Honor Walk at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis (86th Street) on Wednesday, November 27th. The details of the walk will be shared at a later date. They will give a minimum of 4 hours notice of the time of the honor walk.

The family respectfully asks that you not buy flowers, blankets, etc. Instead they ask that you make a donation in honor of Phillip to the WW Athletic Department. The administration also encourages those interested to donate to a fund that has been set up at First Harrison Bank in Salem. Simply visit the branch and make a donation to the Bowsman Family Fund.

A makeshift memorial is at the Senator Football Field, where Coach Bowsman stood proudly on Friday nights as the leader of our young men. Feel free to stop by, leave notes, pictures, momentos, candles, etc. The lights will remain on and you can visit on your own time.
