A man has been shot and killed by East Cleveland officer. The incident occurred in the 13800 block of Superior Road, at about 3:45 p.m, officers responded to a rape in progress.
According to Police, they were were confronted by a man with a gun. The man reportedly approached the female victim with the gun pointed at her head.
According to police, the man was asked to drop off his gun, but he refused. Officers fired shots and struck the man.
Police also said they were told by independent witnesses that the female had been shot by the man.
The man and the woman were transported to University Hospital.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The female is being treated for injuries sustained by the man, police said.
The Ohio Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification was contacted related to the officer-involved shooting.
