Preston Logan Thomas Death | Preston Logan Thomas Obituary – Preston Logan Thomas, 27, was found dead in a room at a Saskatoon hotel on Saturday, 1st of August 2020. Joel Yuzicapi, 28, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Preston Logan Thomas. Joel Yuzicapi made his first court appearance by closed-circuit video at Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday afternoon, 5th of August 2020. He was kept in custody and is expected to next appear in court on the 25th of August 2020. Yuzicapi faces other charges of being unlawfully at large, break and enter with assault, assault with a weapon and breach of probation. Police confirmed the additional charges originated in Saskatoon.
According to reports from SaskatoonStarPheonix, In a news release, city police said the suspect and Thomas were known to each other. Yuzicapi was arrested Tuesday evening, 4th of August 2020 along with another person of interest at a home in the 200 block of Avenue S North. No additional information was available about the second person. On Saturday morning, 1st of August 2020, Police went to the Saskatoon Inn on Airport Drive after receiving a report about an injured man in one of the rooms. Officers arrived and found Thomas dead. Police said an autopsy was completed on Tuesday, but did not release any further information. According to a GoFundMe campaign set up to raise money for Thomas’s grave lot, he was a father of two children.
