Quamie Dalton Death – The authorities have released the identity of the man who lost his life after a fatal car crash on Monday, August 10 as 24-year-old Quamie Dalton, a minibus conductor of Ice House Road, Timehri.
Four people were also severely injured in the crash that occurred along the Soesdyke Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD), says the authorities.

Official report states that the crash happened at around 2. 00 p.m as Dalton and his friends were going home after a birthday party. The car was moving at a fast speed, says the police.
According to an eye witness, the driver of the car struck a median lost control and went off the road crashing into a light pole before rolling several times. The witness continues to say, that the car went on the wrong side of the public road and made a quick dash for the right side which resulted to slamming a light pole, then went up a sand heap, went into the air and rested on a small minibus parked on the road side.
Assistance was rendered to the victims by bystanders. At the point of assistance, the victims were ejected from what seems to be a wreckage and an ambulance arrived to transport victims to the Diamond Diagnostic Center.
Upon arrival, Dalton was tagged from severe to critical and was placed under life support machine, while the other victims were referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Unfortunately, 4 hours after arrival to the hospital, Dalton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver is currently in police custody after his injuries were treated.
Investigation is still on to determine the factor which resulted to the accident, says the police.
