Such sad news. Reginald Moore, who worked tirelessly to make sure the horrors of the convict leasing program & the story of African Americans buried in unmarked graves were not forgotten, has died. We talked at length for this story. He won’t be forgotten.

I join many others this weekend in mourning the death of Reginald Moore, a friend, fellow historian, & tenacious fighter for justice. He has left us far too soon and with work still to do. Thank you, Reggie, for your vision & example. May you rest in peace & rise in glory. https://t.co/gCmQtn5gQe

RIP Reginald Moore – A retired state corrections officer turned advocate, he first alerted Fort Bend ISD officials of the possibility of former slave remains on school property. https://t.co/LT4W2tolkz

Woke up thinking about Reginald Moore this morning. For the last two plus years, we’ve talked over the phone almost every week about the Sugar Land 95 African-American remains.
I first talked to him over the phone in April 2018 when @cindylgeorge passed along my number to him
