Richard Arenas Death – The 46-year-old Richard Arenas from Providence was murdered by a 20-year-old man, identified as Judier Dixon on May, 2012.
Reports have it that Dixon was arrested six weeks after the incident in Alabama.

Dixon confessed to his crime: “I shot the man.” He admitted doing it on purpose.
According to Arenas Nephew who was with him at the time of his demise narrates the incident to the police.
Arenas nephew, Hector Barretto and Arenas had been working on the motor vehicle in the driveway, while he(Barretto) was inside the residence, he heard multiple gun shots. He came outside to find his uncle lying in the driveway and unresponsive. It was reported by Barretto that his uncle, Arenas died at the scene due to his wounds trauma.
The Providence Police arrived immediately after the shooting and was able to get an image from a security dashcam in the area. A young black male was identified through this.
The suspect was seen in the footage wearing a grey pullover with a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts with a large yellow O on one of the legs. The footage shows the individual point with his left hand directing to Arenas’ home and it then showed the individual return to the residence where he could be seen pulling the hood of his pullover over his head and running into the driveway of the residence at the time the shooting occurred.
The police followed the path the individual ran through from the surveillance footage and found a .22 caliber revolver wrapped in a grey pullover two streets over form where the shooting took place.
Still following the suspect, the police discovered additional surveillance that showed the same suspect entering a 401 Manton Ave., Providence. This time the footage showed the individual wearing many of the same articles of clothing, leaving the residence a short time later to walk a dog, and later seen leaving the residence.
The police arrived the Malton Ave. residence but lost him. A resident identified him as Judier Dixon. After a search in his residence, police found a pair of yellow shorts with a large O on the leg, same as the type seen in the dashcam footage at the murder scene.
A DNA test was carried out on both the material and the .22 caliber revolver found and it came out positive.
A warrant for the arrest of Judier Dixon who already fled the area was issued, he was arrested in Alabama in July 2013 by United Stated Marshals.
After being arrayed in court, Dixon was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years.
Dixon later sent out an apology to the family: “I’m not asking none of you to forgive me, because it ain’t gonna happen,” he said. “It’s unrealistic, you know? I’m not expecting you to. But at the end of the day, you know, I apologize.”
The family members appreciated the apology.
