Robert Holdaway Death | Robert Holdaway Obituary – Robert Holdaway age 91 passed away peacefully, Robert Holdaway’s wife Cumorah Holdaway age 91 died just an hour after he died. Robert was known to be an amazing person he contributed passionately to his community and country. He was an inspiration to many he will be greatly missed.
Robert Holdaway passed away this Sunday evening at the age of 91. Roughly, twelve hours later, he was followed by his sweetheart in life and in death Cumorah Holdaway, also the age of 91.
Robert and Cumorah were a pair in a small group that had the original idea for incorporating the Town of Vineyard. Robert served on the first Town Council.
Cumorah attended every Town Council meeting, for years, helping shape the community. Cumorah loved it. Their son Keith Holdaway and son-in-law Nathan Riley served in the city, welcoming in the city we know today.
Cumorah and Robert envisioned the future of Vineyard. Robert would tell his grandchildren. “Vineyard grows amazing crops, but someday, Vineyard will grow a more important crop, families”
Robert and Cumorah grew their family and taught them a deep love for Vineyard, and instilled a desire to serve. Their children and children’s children have continued to serve and make Vineyard into a rich inclusive beautiful city.
I’ve had the pleasure of working hand-in-hand with these good people, as they have dedicated their time to enriching Vineyard. It’s been an honor. Robert and Cumorah have lived on the corner of Holdaway Road for over 70 years, and have touched each part of our community.
Our city will miss them dearly. Vineyard city is lowering their flags to honor their combined service to the city, and their legacy of service and love to our community.
