Robert Jacobson Death – The identity of the man who drowned after he fell off a boat on a central Minnesota lake on Tuesday, August 18 has been released as Robert Jacobson, 83, of Elk River, says the police.
According to Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Jacobson was riding in a boat on Granite Lake, about 50 miles west of the metro area, when he fell into the water around 3:20 p.m.

At the time he fell he was not wearing a life jacket.
The driver of the boat, a 76-year-old Annandale man, jumped into the river to help Jacobson but was unsuccessful. Another boater stopped to help and was able to hold Jacobson above the water surface until more people came to help.
Jacobson was pulled to the shore by first responders and CPR performed on him. Around 4.30 p.m on Tuesday, Jacobson was pronounced dead.
According to the driver of the boat report, he told investigators that he had stopped the boat out on the lake and put the motor in reverse to clear out weeds. When he moved the motor back to forward, he noticed Jacobson was in the water. He threw a life jacket to Jacobson, but Jacobson did not try to grab it, he said.
The investigation is still ongoing by the sheriff’s office and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
