Intoxicated Driver Charged – Scott Tracey, 53, of East Rocks Road in Norwalk, has been identified as the driver that caused a two-vehicle crash on Saturday, June 25th by the police.

The police stated that Tracey was under an influence of alcohol, he was too drunk to stand without supporting himself against his car.

This among other accusation not proven in court was the account given by the Darien police.

Police reports that Tracey, was driving either on the Post Road near Bertucci’s restaurant at 54 Post Road or in the restaurant parking lot and following a vehicle in front of him too closely when his vehicle hit the other one.

When Tracey was asked for his insurance card, he couldn’t find it. So his vehicle registration was suspended due to lack of insurance by the police.

Tracey admitted he was intoxicated after being asked if he’s been drinking. The stench of alcohol was perceived inside his car by the officer. When Tracey couldn’t stand on his own without a support, he was arrested instead of the charge of performing filed sobriety test.

According to the police headquarters, he(Tracey) refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Scott Tracey was charged with driving while under the influence, failure to follow a vehicle at a reasonable distance, failure to insure a motor vehicle and driving with suspended registration.

He was released on a $50 and told to appear in the state Superior Court in Stamford on July 17.
