Sergeant John Previti Death | Obituary – John Previti passed away after a courageous battle against cancer for the last six years.
John was a great person who contributed greatly to his community and country, will be forever remembered by the younger generation.
Sgt. Previti was a graduate from Suffolk University, began his career as a Security Officer for the Suffolk University Police Department. He was promoted to a Patrol Officer in 2005, and graduated from the Massachusetts Special Police Officer Academy (SSPO) Class#16. He continued his way through the Department ranks, becoming a Sergeant in 2008. In 2016, Sgt. Previti received an Outstanding Personal Contribution Award from the Massachusetts Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (MACLEA).
Sgt. Previti was a consummate leader and a tenacious investigator who assisted countless numbers of students, faculty, and staff throughout his career. He was compassionate and committed to the mission of the Department and to the University. The Department is a better organization because of Sgt. Previti’s leadership, dedication, and professionalism. Our thoughts are with the Previti Family, and to all who knew and loved him. Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
We express our sympathy and deepest condolences to Previti’s family today and in the days, weeks, months, and years that are to come as they cope with his passing. May his soul rest in peace.
