Shirwa Hassan Jibril Death | Obituary
A 75-year-old father and grandfather has died of injuries sustained from an attack in a Metro Transit bus last week. Jibril died of “complications of blunt force head injuries,” according to Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Shirwa Hassan Jibril was badly beaten because he asked a group of people in Metro Transit bus to keep their voices down while in the bus.
Jibril died on Tuesday, days after the Nov. 6 attack. A 23-year-old Minneapolis man, Leroy Davis-Miles, was charged with second-degree murder in the incident. Davis-Miles was initially charged with assault, but the charge was upgraded after Jibril died.
“Beaten up at 75 years old. You know?” Jibril’s son, Maslah Adam, told KSTP. “My dad was a great man, he was a community helper, he absolutely was a great man.”
