Shooting in Southeast D.C. claims the life of Christopher Brown and leaves 20 others including a Cop in Critical condition – Christopher Brown, 17, is dead and 20 people were shot including an off-duty D.C. police officer early Sunday morning, 9th of August 2020 at a block party in Southeast Washington. Police report says the off-duty 1st District police officer was shot and is in the hospital fighting for her life.
During a Sunday morning media briefing, Authorities say another 17 year old was shot and at least 11 of the 20 victims that were shot were women, D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham stated. Newsham says there were multiple shooters involved in the incident when shots were fired at a gathering at approximately 12:20 a.m. in the 3300 block of Dubois Place. DC Fire and EMS report that first responders transported nine patients from the shooting scene and two people from two other locations. Currently, there is no suspect information related to the shooting.
