A Bluff City teen woman, Sophie Gourley has passed away. She died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 18, in a tragic single-vehicle accident that during the night hour.
Tennessee Highway Patrol in reported that there were three occupants inside the Chrystler Mini Cooper when it traveled off of Hickory Tree Road near the intersection of Beidleman Creek Road in Sullivan County.
The vehicle was reportedly traveling north on Hickory Tree Road at about 8 p.m. when it traveled off the roadway, struck trees as it rolled over multiple times before coming to rest against a tree.
Sophie Gourley was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the driver of the Chrysler. Investigators said she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
