Stephen Butler Death – The Peterborough County OPP on Tuesday, July 21, has reported on the death of one of the two victims airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital following a collision south of Peterborough on Friday morning.

The OPP has identified the victim as 45-year-old Stephen Butler, of the City of Kawartha Lakes in the former Emily Township.

The incident happened when two pick up trucks collided around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Keene Road and Base Line in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township. Owing to the collision, both pick up ended in the ditch, says the police.

According to Police, one of the trucks was a township vehicle and was travelling southbound on Keene Road when it collided with a pickup truck travelling eastbound on Base Line.

The driver of the township truck was taken to an area hospital while two victims from the pickup truck were airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries.

The OPP released on Tuesday morning about the death of the driver of the eastbound truck. He died as a result of his injuries.

Investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
