Terry Hands has died, he was a former RSC Artistic Director and had ran the RSC for a period of 13 years. Gregory Doran and Antony Sher pay tribute to Hands.
Terry Hands’ death happened this week. His cause of death is not made publicly available at this time.
Hands joined the RSC to run Theatregoround in 1966, became joint Artistic Director with Trevor Nunn in 1978, and took over as sole chief executive in 1986, running the company until 1990.
We’re deeply saddened to hear of the death of our former Artistic Director Terry Hands.
Terry was an inspirational director who ran the RSC for 13 years.
