Farmington Thruway Death – The authorities have confirmed the death of three persons who sadly lost their lives after a fatal mobile crash and two persons injured in the crash in Farmington Thruway on Tuesday morning, August 18.

According to the New York State Police, The crash occurred at mile marker 345.6 in Farmington at about 1:30 a.m.

The eastbound lanes of the New York State Thruway between exits 43 and 44 were closed by Troopers after the crash, says Sgt. Mike Kopp.

Preliminary investigation reveals that around 1:30 a.m., an 81-year-old driver, who was reported missing from Ohio, was observed driving the wrong way on the Thruway after he left the Clifton Springs service area approximately 8 minutes before crashing with a passing car with four men who were in their 20s.

After the crash, three people were pronounced dead at the scene, and the two who were injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. They were all from the passing car.

The driver of the passing car and the Ohio missing old driver were killed at the scene, says Trooper Mark O’Donnell.

The identities of the people involved in the crash are yet to be released pending their family’s notification.

Investigation is still ongoing to determine the real factor that caused the crash.
