U.S Service Member Death – The report of a U.S service member who was found dead on Tuesday, August 11 in Bahrain after a non-combat related incident has been confirmed by the Marine Corps.
According to 1st Lt. John Coppola, a spokesman for the Marine Corps, the service member was assigned to the Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5 Marine Expeditionary Brigade.

The identity of the officer is yet to be released pending the notification of his family members.
According to the press release, the Marine Corps and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service are investigating the cause of the death.
“The service member’s remains are in the process of being returned to the United States,” says the release.
