Veeta Shipp Death – The Columbus Police has confirmed the death of a 68-year-old woman identified as Veeta Shipp, of Columbus, after she was struck by a vehicle on Saturday evening, July 18, in southeast Columbus .
Shipp was hit at approximately, 10:20 p.m on Saturday at the Refugee Road and South Hamilton Road, says the police.

Authorities reports that Shipp was hit by a Nissan Altima, driven by 28-year-old Devonte Franklin-Ross, which was traveling west on Refugee Road.
She was immediately transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
The police says it is not known where Shipp had come from or how she got into the road at the time, but says she was in the road in front of the Altima when she was struck.
The driver of the Altima, Franklin-Ross told the police that he stopped his vehicle and ran to Shipp after the incident, then another car stopped and stole Shipp’s purse, then fled the scene.
According to record, this is the 29th fatal traffic crash resulting in 31 fatalities for 2020.
