Wafika Al Hasan Death – The police have released the identity of the woman who was killed on Wednesday, July 29 after being hit by a minibus as she was trying to cross the road, as 65-year-old Wafika Al Hasan from Palestine.
According to reports, Hassan was with her husband when they both tried to cross the road on Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue around 12 noon.

They were at a pelican crossing when a minibus failed to stop and hit Mrs Hassan.
Mrs Hassan who was seriously injured was rushed to the Emergency Room at Larnaca General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead an hour later, says the police representative.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, the traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing were green which gave access to vehicle movement.
A different source says another vehicle with a trailer gave access to the couple to cross which led Mrs Hassan to attempt crossing.
The driver of the minibus who is a 55-year-old man told investigators that the woman failed to press the button, says the local media.
Investigation is being handled by Larnaca traffic police.
