He was an investigator with the Shelby County District Attorney’s office who appeared on the television show “First 48”. He was a Longtime MPD detective and Shelby County D.A.’s Office criminal investigator. Merritt spent 28 years with the Memphis Police Department, a lot of that time as a homicide investigator.
