William Paterson Death | William Paterson Obituary – William Paterson, 24, was found dead inside a house after a fire early Tuesday, 11th of August 2020. Homeowner Rafael Grullon, who lives in Plains Township said that Paterson broke in through a top-floor window and fell asleep on a couch smoking a cigarette. Crews were dispatched to 300 Powell St. at approximately 1:38 a.m., according to assistant fire chief Rob Palchanis. Reports from Palchanis says that the fire started on the second floor and quickly extended into the third floor and then into the roof. As crews were performing a search, Paterson’s body was discovered somewhere on the third floor.
According to TimesLeader, Palchanis classified the building as a “total loss” due to the extent of the damage. He said finding and removing the body complicated efforts to fight the blaze. Crews hurried back to the scene at approximately 9 a.m. for a report of a rekindling. Assistant chief Rob Meyers said officials from the borough’s street department were checking the area to see if the street could be reopened to traffic when they noticed smoke coming from the home. The blaze is still under investigation.
