Wilma Jean Petty Death – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have identified the woman who was shot to death in a fatal north Charlotte shooting on Saturday night, July 25, as 63-year-old Wilma Jean Petty.
According to the police, around 10:40 p.m, they responded to West 28th Street, nearby North Church Street, on a report of an Assault with Deadly Weapon.

When the police arrived, Petty was located with a gunshot wound, says the police.
Petty was pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of the MEDIC.
The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
