Yuri Berger Death – The Fair Lawn Police have identified the pedestrian who got killed while crossing the road on Wednesday, July 29, in front of the Municipal Building, as 63-year-old Yuri Berger, of Fair Lawn.

The police reports that at 9.45 a.m on Wednesday, they received several calls about a pedestrian who has been hit at the intersection of Fair Lawn and Parmalee Avenues, in front of the Fair Lawn Municipal Building.

Berger who was trying to cross Fair Lawn Avenue in the cross walk was hit by a 2012 Honda driven by a man identified as 53-year-old Fair Lawn man traveling westbound.

According to reports, Berger was thrown into the eastbound lane of traffic and under the front of a 2017 Mercedes Benz driven by a 63-year-old male from Clifton who was stopped prior to the accident. He was trapped under the Mercedes Benz.

Upon the arrival of the police, the Mercedes was lifted to give access to treat Berger.

Life saving measures were administered and Berger was transported to the St. Joseph’s Hospital by the Fair Lawn BLS and paramedics.

Berger later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Investigation was handled by the Fair Lawn Police Department, with the assistance of the Bergen County Prosecutors Fatal Accident Team.

No other person was reported injured.
