Outer Banks Death – A 26-year-old man identified by the police as Zacheus D. Dominetae of Greenville has died in an early morning swim on Friday after  getting involved in a rip current.

Joel Johnson, Kitty Hawk Police Chief says officers responded to the call at about 3:15 am for a possible drowning at the beach on North Virginia Dare Trail.

Following investigation, it was discovered that Dominetae had entered the ocean to swim with a friend.They got engaged in a rip current while in the ocean. Dominetae’s friend lost sight of him due to the current and was able to swim to the shore to get help.

According to Johnson, the rescue personnel came in and had an extensive search of Dominetae, but unfortunately found his dead body hours later after the tragic incident.
