Zei Uwadia, the teen girl who inspired a lot of people by walking while on life support has died at home, according to Facebook post by his mother.
Uwadia’s mother, Brie Kerschen announced the passing of Zei in a Facebook post.
Uwadia went back home a night before her 17th birthday, from Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She had spent about 467 days in the hospital before the decision to go home on the eve of her birthday.
According to Kerschen, Zei had suffered fluid retention, breathing, and staying awake days before her death.
“We all cuddled in her bed for some time before her body left our home,” Kerschen wrote.
